Review ask

As a clinical trial statistician or programmer, challenge anything in this benchmark: describe a problem in Comments, or propose a fix with the Edit button on any source file.

  1. Task: Would a real study need this derivation, specified this way? Does it follow CDISC ADaM: variable names, controlled terms, record structure? Flag any rule that is ambiguous or that a sponsor would handle differently.
  2. Inputs: Do they look like data collected in a real trial, and do they include the situations you would expect to meet in one?
  3. Expected output: Would independent QC programming reproduce every value from these inputs and rules?

The other tabs beside Comments are background for assessment, not under review.

What this benchmark means
README.md

Goal: apply CEIL, FLOOR, TRUNC, EXP, MOD, GREATEST, LEAST, and COALESCE to carried values.

Input: subject-level records carrying AVAL as a decimal number and BVAL and CVAL as whole numbers, each copied to the output unchanged (a blank stays blank).

Variables:

  • CEILVAL holds the smallest whole number at or above AVAL; blank when AVAL is blank.
  • FLOORVAL holds the largest whole number at or below AVAL; blank when AVAL is blank.
  • TRUNCVAL holds AVAL with its fraction cut away toward zero, so a negative value with a fraction moves up, not down; blank when AVAL is blank.
  • EXPVAL holds the constant e raised to AVAL; blank when AVAL is blank.
  • MODVAL holds the remainder of BVAL divided by three, with the sign of BVAL; blank when BVAL is blank.
  • GREATESTVAL holds the largest among BVAL, CVAL, and zero, skipping blanks; the zero means it is never blank.
  • LEASTVAL holds the smallest among BVAL, CVAL, and zero, skipping blanks; the zero means it is never blank.
  • COALESCEVAL holds CVAL when present and otherwise BVAL; blank when both are blank.

Note: a blank input gives a blank result, except that the largest-or-smallest choice skips blanks and the first-present choice moves to the next value.
